Downtown Lakeland on January 17th at 2:30 pm

LAKELAND, Fla. - Cowboys and cowgirls are coming to town; Downtown Lakeland that is, for the Americom Pro Rodeo Classic Rodeo Parade, January 17th at 2:30pm. This cow poke parade will kick off the AMERICOM Pro Rodeo Classic presented by MIDFLORIDA Federal Credit Union is riding into The Lakeland Center on January 18-19, 2008 at 8pm.
 
The parade will feature cowboys, cowgirls, cattle and a variety of floats parading through the streets of downtown Lakeland beginning at the north end of Tennessee Avenue and traveling south on Tennessee to Lemon Street and then onto Kentucky Avenue looping back towards the start location.

Sheriff Grady Judd will be the Grand Marshall along with the reigning Miss Rodeo Florida. Also joining the barnyard bonanza, world famous Tim Lepard and his Cowboy Monkeys…The Ghost Riders! Catch a glimpse of these pint sized capuchin cowboy monkeys and their trusty canine steeds!
            
The parade is just the beginning of a great rodeo weekend. Friday night is WPCV Family Night, where two children (2-12) are admitted free with a paid adult admission. The AMERICOM Pro Rodeo Classic presented by MIDFLORIDA Federal Credit Union is also teaming up with the American Cancer Society and the Cattle Baron’s Ball to fight against cancer. By presenting a special coupon at The Lakeland Center Box Office, a portion of the tickets proceeds will benefit the American Cancer Society.
 
The AMERICOM Pro Rodeo Classic presented by MIDFLORIDA Federal Credit Union is a sanctioned PRCA event and features top cowboys and cowgirls competing in 8 professional rodeo events. Tickets are on sale now and are $30 for Gold Buckle seats, $20 for reserved seats and $16.50 for general admission.  

The Lakeland Center offers a full variety of sporting events, concerts and shows.
